Planning Your Article Marketing Strategy

In order to promote your blog’s articles, having a good article marketing strategy can be your path to success.

Marketing or advertising your website’s articles can be a highly effective strategy. It does not require excessive time investment or technological knowledge either. By applying themselves intelligently, many webmasters run great article promotion programs with relatively little effort. This article will share a few tips for making an article marketing campaign more effective and less time-intensive.

The first strategy is, of course, to write good articles. By writing well, you not only will keep a reader’s interest, but if they like what you write they will keep coming back to your website. In addition, if you have a newsletter or subscription service, if readers enjoy your articles they will subscribe to your website so they are informed when you post something new.

In your articles, it is also a good idea to use an article resource box. This is a framed box at the end of each of your articles. It gives the reader a bit of background information on the article’s author, where to find more articles by the same writer, any projects you may be working on, and sometimes includes a picture. This can be a great strategy to better engage with your readers.

When titling your article, make sure that it will be compelling to your readers. Not only should you be sure to have your keywords in your headline, but it should also stand out to readers. If your headline is not appealing, no one will want to read what you wrote. A good article title will also attract more readers when it shows up in a search. Many potential readers are using an online search engine looking for information about a certain topic. If your article title comes up in a search, the title should be enticing enough to the searcher to make them click on and read your post.

In article arrangement, the call to action is vital. You should include calls to action in every article you create. The term may sound grandiose, but the idea is simple: your article should have a hook that urges readers to participate in some way. The classic example is asking your readers to register at a website, but even pointing them towards another related post on your website is a call to action.

For article promotion, the use of social media is key. Having either a Twitter account or a Facebook page (or both!) is a great way to let people know your article has been posted. A good tweet on Twitter with a direct link and hashtags with your keywords is a great way to attract new readers to your website. Having a Facebook page (not just your personal Facebook account) that is built around your website or blog can build a following through dedicated “likes” to your page, and can even be promoted through Facebook advertising, which can direct your posts about your articles on your Facebook page to a targeted audience.

Other social media sites may be effective depending on the type of articles you are writing. If your blog or website is very graphic or picture oriented, then an account on Pinterest is a must. Your pins can reach many new people and always have direct links to your website. If your articles are more business-related, then LinkedIn is a great source for reaching a new audience.

These are just a few of the ways to start or improve a great article marketing campaign. Unlike other online marketing strategies, article or blog promotion is highly individual. There is no magic solution for every campaign, and that is a good thing. There are many paths to success, and an interested website owner can try different methods, measure their success, then consistently follow what works best to suit his or her site perfectly.
